(GLENVILLE)--It is said that Lightning never strikes twice in the same location. The same cannot be said for High Winds. Winds estimated by the National Weather Service at between 65 and 95 miles an hour toppled the broadcast tower of radio station WVRW 107.7 FM located in Glenville WV, during Wednesdays severe storms. The station which plays ‘Oldies” music is owned and operated by Steve Peters and Janie Woofter, who also own WHAW 980am and WOTR 96,3 FM stations located in Weston. Peters said this is the second time since WVRW went on the air February 14, 2009 that high winds have taken down it’s 200ft plus feet tower. A similar disaster befell the station in June 2013. Peters plans to have a new tower up and be back on the air as soon as possible, but said he has no estimated time when such work would be completed.
